A New Way to Heal
Psychiatry, individual therapy, and group support — coordinated by one clinical team.
Disconnected therapy visits and once-in-a-while psychiatry leave too many people stuck. Our programs bring everything together, several days a week — so meaningful change can happen in months, not years.
Board-certified psychiatric providers who see you regularly — not once a quarter — and fine-tune treatment as you progress.
Weekly one-on-one sessions with a licensed therapist who knows your whole story and works from one coordinated plan.
Small, clinician-led groups where you’re understood without explaining yourself. For many clients, this is where the breakthrough happens.
Evidence-based methods that turn insight into practical skills — for low mood, rumination, and overwhelm.
Clinicians trained to recognize and treat the experiences underneath the symptoms, at a pace you control.
Licensed therapists and psychiatric providers, supervised clinical programming, and measurable treatment goals reviewed with you.
What We Treat
IOP for when weekly therapy isn’t enough — outpatient when you’re ready to step down.
We treat depression, anxiety, trauma, and the substance use that so often travels with them — at two levels of care. Our mental health IOP sits between weekly therapy and hospitalization: three-hour sessions several days a week. Outpatient is one to two sessions a week, for ongoing care or as the step down when IOP has done its work.
Psychiatry, individual therapy, and group, several days a week — structured enough to change the trajectory, flexible enough to live your life.
Evaluation and medication management inside the program — your prescriber and therapist share one plan.
Clinician-led groups where the isolation breaks and the skills get practiced, not just discussed.
Substance use IOP and outpatient in the same office — one team treats what’s underneath and what’s on top of it.

Levels of Care
Your level of care adjusts as you heal.
Three-hour sessions, several days a week — psychiatry, individual therapy, and group in one coordinated program.
Ongoing individual therapy and medication management, typically 1–2 sessions per week — keeping the progress you’ve made.
The same coordinated care — psychiatry, individual therapy, and group — delivered over secure video to adults across New Jersey.
How We Help
Most people start with one and add the other. We make both easy to begin — in person or from home.
Licensed, in-network therapists matched to what you’re facing — depression, anxiety, trauma, and more.
What to expect: a warm first session, a plan you help shape, and progress you can feel.
Expert evaluation and ongoing medication management from psychiatric providers who actually follow up.
Appointments: new-patient psychiatry often within a week, in person or virtual.
The same licensed clinicians, from home — secure, private, and on your schedule.
Virtual psychiatry: medication visits online where clinically appropriate.
How it works: book, get a secure link, and meet by video.
Need Care Soon?
When things feel urgent you shouldn’t wait weeks — we hold space for prompt outpatient appointments.
Call and we’ll get you a prompt outpatient visit — often the same week — with a therapist or psychiatric provider. We’ll confirm your insurance, answer your questions, and book a real time.
Guardian Recovery is an outpatient mental-health provider — not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone you love is in danger or thinking about suicide:
Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) · call 911 · or go to your nearest emergency room. Help is available 24/7.
Insurance & Cost
Most clients pay little or nothing out of pocket once benefits are verified.
One quick, confidential call and we can verify your mental health benefits with your insurance company — usually while you’re still on the phone. You’ll know exactly what’s covered before you decide anything.
Coverage varies by plan. Our admissions team confirms your exact benefits before any decision is made.
With your consent, family sessions help the people closest to you understand what you’re working through — and how to support it rather than tiptoe around it.
Your care is protected by federal privacy law. No one — not your employer, not your family — learns anything without your written consent.
Reviews & Stories of Recovery
From people who remember exactly how heavy it felt.
“Years of weekly therapy kept me afloat but never moved me forward. Twelve weeks of IOP did. Having a psychiatrist and therapist who actually talked to each other changed everything.”
Sarah K. Client · Guardian Recovery New Jersey
“I dreaded group the most, and it became the thing I looked forward to. Eight strangers understood me better than people I’d known my whole life.”
David L. Client · Hoboken Counseling Center
“The evening track meant I never had to explain anything at work. I just slowly became someone who could get out of bed again.”

Cost & Payment
With insurance, therapy and psychiatry usually cost far less than people expect — and we tell you the real number up front.
In minutes we check your plan and tell you exactly what’s covered — copay, deductible, and out-of-pocket max.
Coverage with BCBS, Aetna, Cigna / Evernorth, UnitedHealthcare and more often brings your cost to little or nothing.
Many out-of-network plans still reimburse a large share of care. One quick check tells us what yours will do.

Common Questions
Most insurance plans include mental health benefits that can cover intensive outpatient care in full or in large part. We verify your exact benefits for free before you commit to anything, and self-pay options are available.
No. Your care is protected by HIPAA. We never share information with employers, family, or anyone else without your written consent — and our office is a discreet, ordinary office suite.
33-41 Newark Street, Suite 4A, Hoboken — a short walk from the terminal, so the PATH, NJ Transit, buses, and the ferry all work. If you’re driving, there’s garage parking nearby.
IOP is several days a week — psychiatry, individual therapy, and group in one coordinated plan — for when weekly therapy isn’t enough. Outpatient is one to two sessions a week: ongoing therapy and medication management, or the step down once IOP has done its work. Both happen at our office, and you move between them without changing teams.
Yes. We run substance use IOP and outpatient alongside our mental health programs, and many people need both. One team treats the drinking or using and what’s underneath it.
Most clients attend three-hour sessions several days a week — a mix of group therapy, individual sessions, and regular psychiatric check-ins. Your schedule, goals, and progress are reviewed with you every week.
Frequency and coordination. Instead of one hour a week with one provider, you get multiple sessions weekly with a team that shares one plan. That concentration is why many clients see in months the progress that took years before.
Yes — that’s the point of the design. Day and evening tracks let most clients keep their work and family commitments. Many attend the evening track without anyone at work knowing.
No. The right time to call is when what you’re doing isn’t working — whether that’s persistent low mood, anxiety that runs your schedule, or simply feeling stuck. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll help you find what is.
